About The Position

CHS United Plains in Sterling, Colorado, is seeking a Truck Driver/Operations Specialist to deliver products to local farmers and ranchers and assist with operations work at the site. The role involves general labor, preparing trucks and railcars for loading and unloading, handling agricultural inputs, maintaining inventory quality, and completing repairs and maintenance. The position is Monday through Friday with daily home time; Saturdays may be needed during busy seasons. A CDL is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in Operations and/or Trucking Operations.
• Must meet the minimum age requirement.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins, and climb into the back of a trailer.
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card.
• Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends.
• Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements.
• Valid Class A CDL.
• Agriculture background.
• Customer service experience.
• Bulk liquid, pressure trailer, or forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently.
• Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading.
• Load and unload agricultural inputs using machinery or equipment.
• Conduct and record repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and maintain inventory quality.
• Deliver products safely and professionally.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, including hours of service.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Perform grounds and warehouse maintenance.
• Report safety or customer issues promptly.
• Maintain a strong safety culture.
• Perform other assigned duties.
