About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Non-CDL Truck Driver in Mira Loma, CA— offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers hourly pay of $24.00 per hour for 40+ hours per week, with a schedule of Tuesday - Saturday, starting at 7:00 AM. The role involves operating as a Yard Jockey, delivering SOLO within a local area and returning home daily. The tractor type is a Day Cab, and the trailer type is a Dry Van (48', 53'). Freight is handled on a drop and hook basis. Ryder drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling available at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Ryder emphasizes respect for driver talent and experience, with transparency about pay, routes, and schedules. They also offer support for owner operators transitioning to company driver roles.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Must have verifiable driving experience in "like" equipment: 9 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Yard Driver Examination
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• Candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard, but cannot drive on public roads
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records
• Other tasks as assigned
