About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Full Time Non CDL Truck Driver in Alexandria, LA — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service. Deliver SOLO To: 80 Mile Radius of Alexandria LA. Route: Local Home Daily. Tractor Type: Straight Truck, Sprinter Van or Box Truck. Trailer Type: Dry Van 16'-26'. Equipment: Rolling Carts. Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful. Freight: Touch – US Mail. Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide. Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
Maintaining accurate records
Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
Other tasks as assigned
