About The Position

The Non CDL Truck Driver will safely operate a heavy-duty truck and is responsible for preparing, loading, and transporting large intermodal containers from the intermodal rail facility to the landfill working face. This role operates in off-road conditions and may operate in tight overhead environments, requiring highly skilled backing maneuvers. The driver will coordinate the movement of materials with the rail foreman and Landfill Operations. Requirements

1 year of experience operating a truck or military driving within the last 7 years
Must be at least 18 years of age
Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports

Responsibilities

Operates vehicle in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
Positions and/or returns intermodal containers on the rail/truck in a manner that ensures the container is safe and secure.
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks on standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service related issues to Manager or Supervisor.
Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by WM or Facility Manager.
Works closely with Facility Managers to improve efficiencies and identify best practices.
Notifies Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
Notifies Manager of operational issues or potential safety hazards.
Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement.
Reads, understands, and applies information such as lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Anticipates typical problems, identifies potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action.
Troubleshoots equipment and assists in diagnosing problem areas.
Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; as well as communicates clearly whether via two-way radio or face to face.
Performs all duties as scheduled by Manager.
