About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Part Time Non CDL Truck Driver in Flint, MI — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position involves delivering SOLO within a 150-mile radius of Flint, MI, operating Box Trucks & Sprinter Vans with Dry Van 16'-26' trailers. Ryder will provide training on all necessary equipment. Freight handled is US Mail, which is considered touch freight. Ryder drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling available at over 800 nationwide locations. The company emphasizes respect for drivers' talent and experience, with upfront communication about pay, routes, and schedules.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• A secondary background screen - Federal Level 2 conducted by the USPS to allow access to premises and/or to provide contractual services
• Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless there is a legal exemption

Nice To Haves

• Candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
