About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Charlton, MA — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers an average weekly pay of $1263 with over 40 hours per week. The driver will be responsible for solo miles and stops, with paid training provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, and a start time between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. The delivery radius is 120 miles from Charlton, MA, and the route is local, allowing drivers to be home daily. The truck type is a Box Truck (16', 22', & 26') and Ryder will train on the use of equipment such as Pallet Jack, Lift Gate & Hand Truck. The freight is touch freight, specifically auto parts. Ryder trucks are well-maintained, safe, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling available nationwide.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned
