About The Position

Ryder's Driver Development Program is seeking new CDL graduates for a Class A Driver opening in Princeton, IN. This program offers 8 weeks of paid, proficiency-based training with experienced facilitators, focusing on backing, close quarter maneuvers, and practice runs. Drivers will gain hands-on experience from industry instructors. The position offers a weekly guarantee of $1050, with pay rates of $0.55 per mile and $13.00 per stop. Drop and hook pay is $6.00. The schedule is flexible with both AM and PM shifts. Deliveries are SOLO to OH, TN, IN, MO, KY, with home daily routes. Freight is No Touch – Auto Parts. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance. Ryder provides uniforms and a boot allowance. Paid Personal Time Off starts on Day 1, with 80 hours accrued in the first year. Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits start at 30 days. Paid Maternity Leave is offered for 12 weeks for qualifying employees. Immediate 401k rollover and contributions with company match at one year. Requirements

  • 9 months or less of CDL driving experience
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder background and a Motor Vehicle Registration check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding the checking in and out of freight
  • Perform other duties as assigned
