About The Position

Ryder is hiring a solo Class A CDL truck driver based in Dalton, Ohio, delivering commercial and residential garage doors to 48 states. Drivers operate sleeper tractors with APUs and dry van or Conestoga trailers; Conestoga experience is preferred. The work involves strapping loads and hand-unloading freight. A passport endorsement is required within 90 days of hire. Drivers use well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. A companion and/or pet may accompany the driver on the road. The position pays weekly, with solo mileage pay of $0.70 per mile for 2,000–2,500 miles per week and stop pay of $30.01 per stop for 8–10 stops per week. A quarterly safety bonus of $250 and sign-on payments of $1,500 at 30 days and $1,500 at 90 days are offered. Paid training is provided. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test, background and motor vehicle check, DOT physical, and Ryder road test.
Complete drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years as part of the background and motor vehicle check.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience meeting one of these thresholds: 9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Obtain a passport endorsement within 90 days of hire.
Hand-unload freight and secure loads with strapping.
