About The Position

The Class A CDL Driver – Drop & Hook is responsible for safely and promptly picking up, transporting, and delivering tires through drop-and-hook operations. Routes are assigned by dispatch, and drivers manage daily transportation activities, maintain professionalism at customer locations, and complete required documentation accurately. The role requires compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and Liberty Tire Recycling safety and operating requirements. The position involves extended periods of driving, outdoor work in varying weather conditions, and physical tasks related to inspections, trailer handling, and waste tire removal. Drivers may need to lift up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Minimum age of 22 years.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Meet all FMCSA driver qualification requirements.
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with DOT standards.
At least 1 year of commercial driving experience or equivalent Class A CDL driving experience.
Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
Ability to safely operate Class A equipment and perform drop-and-hook operations.
Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and compliance.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Clear and professional communication with dispatch, customers, and coworkers.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to inspections and equipment handling.

Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

Safely remove and transport tires from customer locations to designated Liberty Tire Recycling facilities or approved disposal sites.
Perform drop-and-hook trailer operations, including exchanging loaded and empty trailers at customer locations, company yards, and facilities.
Ensure loads are properly secured and comply with DOT and company safety requirements before transport.
Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route inspections of assigned tractors and trailers; complete DVIRs and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
Complete DOT logs, driver qualification documentation, bills of lading, manifests, and required company or customer paperwork accurately.
Collect and transport payments from cash-only customers when required, following company cash-handling procedures.
Keep equipment clean, safe, and operational.
Navigate assigned routes using maps, GPS, and dispatch instructions, accounting for traffic, weather, and site conditions.
Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers, tire stores, dispatch, and internal teams.
Follow Liberty Tire Recycling safety policies, environmental standards, and operating procedures.
Assist with yard moves, trailer positioning, and other assigned transportation tasks.
Perform additional duties as required to support waste tire removal operations.
