About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Yard Driver in Blue Springs, Mississippi. This local yard-driving position is home daily and involves no-touch yard moves of auto-parts freight using a yard truck and 53-foot dry van. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 9:45 PM, with 40 or more hours per week. Pay is $23.32 per hour, paid weekly. Drivers handle and maneuver tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: nine months within the past three years, or two years within the last five years, or five years within the last ten years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads.
• Comply with safety and DOT regulations, participate in continuous training, and provide customer service.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Maintain accurate move and yard inventory records.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
