About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL solo truck driver in Warwick, Rhode Island. The position pays weekly, with average weekly earnings of $1,950, a quarterly safety bonus of $250, sign-on bonuses of $1,500 at 30 days and $1,500 at 90 days, and paid training. The driver delivers freight solo from North Dakota to Texas and all states east, as well as Canada, and is home every other week. Equipment includes sleeper tractors with APUs and dry van and Conestoga trailers; Conestoga experience is preferred. Freight consists of commercial and residential garage doors, with strapping for load securement and driver assistance on touch-freight dry van loads. Drivers may bring a person and/or pet on the road. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

The role includes medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days; PTO accrual beginning on day one; uniforms, a cell phone, and a boot allowance; and access to a 401(k) rollover and company match after one year. Paid maternity leave of 12 weeks is available subject to specific eligibility criteria, including work tenure. Drivers make safety decisions, and their jobs are protected. Applicants must meet age, screening, physical, road-test, CDL, and experience requirements. The driver must comply with applicable laws and regulations, identify and address safety hazards, maintain accurate records and logs, and load or unload freight or assist with those tasks when required by the customer.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: at least 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

• Dry van and Conestoga experience preferred.

Responsibilities
