About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Kenosha, WI — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers an average of $1900 or more per week, with pay on a weekly basis. The role involves approximately 60+ hours per week, with pay based on miles ($0.67 per Mile with average 2000 Miles per Week) and stops ($33.50 per Stop with average 15 Stops per Week). Additionally, there is per diem pay of $60.00 per night for 2+ nights per week and layover pay of $75.00 per night. A sign-on bonus of $1750 is paid after 30 days and another $1750 after 90 days. A safety bonus of $300 is paid four times a year, every quarter. The schedule is Monday – Friday with one Saturday per month, and the dispatch window is between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM. Drivers will deliver SOLO to MI, IN, IL, IA, WI, OH, MN, PA, NY using Sleepers and Day Cabs for Dry Van & Reefer 48' & 53’ trailers. The freight is touch freight, consisting of groceries on pallets, and requires driver assist unload. Ryder Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Ryder provides support for drivers, including purchasing owner-operator trucks and assisting during transitions. Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
