About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Lancaster, PA — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers an average weekly pay of $1300, with hourly pay at $29.31 per hour plus a $6.11 per hour Health & Wellness Stipend for approximately 40 hours per week. Paid training is provided. The schedule operates on a 7-day cycle with 1-2 days off per week, and various shifts are available. Drivers will operate within a 150-mile radius of Lancaster, PA, making SOLO deliveries of US Mail freight using Dry Van 53’ trailers and Day Cab tractors. Equipment includes Pallet Jacks and Rolling Carts, and Ryder will provide training on all necessary equipment. Ryder trucks are well-maintained, safe, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling available at over 800 nationwide locations. Drivers are empowered to make safety decisions, and their jobs are protected. Ryder also offers a referral bonus program for hired drivers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • A secondary background screen - Federal Level 2 conducted by the USPS to allow access to premises and/or to provide contractual services
  • Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless there is a legal exemption

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
