About The Position

J&J Truck Bodies and Trailers is looking for experienced truck body installers at our Cumberland, MD shop. This role involves preparing chassis to receive bodies, cutting, welding, and modifying chassis as required, installing wiring and electrical components, hydraulic system components, and lift axles. The installer will also install plow hoists, body hoists, and hydraulic cylinders, as well as pneumatic components and controls, and perform similar tasks on trailers. The position requires competence in basic shop math and adherence to all provisions of the ISO 9001 QMS.

Requirements

• Vocational/technical training or a high school diploma or general education degree with work experience in an industrial setting
• Competent in basic shop math

Responsibilities

• Prepare chassis to receive bodies
• Cut, weld, and modify chassis as required
• Install wiring and electrical components
• Install hydraulic system components
• Install lift axles
• Install plow hoists, body hoists and hydraulic cylinders
• Install pneumatic components and controls
• Perform similar tasks on trailers
• Check driveshaft clearance
• Ensure proper routing of airlines
• Safely perform duties; wear always required PPE
• Observes and complies with all provisions of the ISO 9001 QMS
