About The Position

SEPTA is hosting a Virtual Engineering Recruitment Event on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is seeking to hire multiple Project Managers (7131) and Senior Project Engineers for The Trolley Modernization Transportation Projects. This event will provide access to speak directly with SEPTA's Trolley Modernization Engineering Hiring Managers and Human Resources Staff. Participants will engage in discussions about SEPTA's current Trolley Modernization engineering projects, employment opportunities, and potential career growth possibilities. To participate, registration is required by completing the Online Event Registration Application and submitting a resume that includes degree discipline and employment experience. Registered participants will receive an invitation via email to join the event using MS TEAMS. The event is virtual and can be joined via computer, laptop, iPad, tablet, or cell phone, provided the device has internet and a camera. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related discipline and eight (8) years of progressive engineering/architectural employment experience, or an equivalent combination of engineering and project management, or related experience in construction is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture, with EIT or either Master's Degree in Engineering or MBA with six (6) years responsible experience.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, OR Bachelor of Architecture and seven (7) years engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of engineering and project management or related experience required.
• Willingness to work evenings and nights as required to attend meetings and complete project work.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Civil Engineering, or Architecture, is preferred.
• PA registered Professional Engineer/Registered Architect (PE/RA) preferred.
• Experience in public transit project management preferred.
• Experience on similar projects (FTA Capital Investment Grant funding) is sought for corridor modernization projects.

Responsibilities

• Development and management of complex projects within the Trolley Modernization Program.
• Lead corridor modernization projects, OCS conversion, new substations, bridge upgrades, and other supporting infrastructure projects.
• Manage third-party consultants.
• Lead stakeholder and agency coordination.
• Ensure conformance to applicable funding requirements.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of engineers/architects and construction inspectors.
• Manage projects of moderate complexity and/or supporting complex projects within the Trolley Modernization Program.
• Define and manage project scope through the procurement, design, and construction phases.
• Manage construction projects.
• Coordinate with utilities, governmental agencies, and SEPTA’s Engineering, Maintenance & Construction and Operations departments.
