Trimmer | Utility Line Clearance
About The Position
Davey Utility Line Clearance is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer, CDL holder preferred, to join their team servicing the Medina and Lorain County, Ohio regions for Lorain-Medina Rural Electric. This role involves performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers, including pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees, and removing broken limbs. The job requires climbing trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, applying tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines, and maintaining tools and equipment. The position is a full-time hourly role with compensation based on qualifications and experience.
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
- Line clearance experience or other related tree work
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
- ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
Responsibilities
- Climb Trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
- Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers
- Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal
- Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
- Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
- Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
- Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
