About The Position
Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Utility Tree Trimmer to join their team. This role involves performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers. The position offers a unique outdoor work environment with new views daily and opportunities for growth within a large, employee-owned company. Requirements
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
- Valid driver's license
Nice To Haves
- Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
- Line clearance experience or other related tree work
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
- ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
Responsibilities
- Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
- Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
- Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
- Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
- Apply knowledge of tree identification and industry pruning guidelines.
- Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Operate as an active crew member, supporting the ground crew and foreperson.
