Opportunity awaits! We are looking to hire a Tribal Family Coach, Human Services Case Manager, in our North Salem Branch office. In this position you will provide support to families transitioning to independence using strength-based, culturally appropriate services. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
  • Three years of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing).
  • A bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or a closely related field;
  • An associate degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science or a closely related field AND two years of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing);
  • An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

  • Experience supporting families with case management tools and resources in a collaborative working environment.
  • Experience explaining complex rules, regulations, processes, and procedures both verbally and in written communications.
  • Experience engaging with individuals in a culturally responsive manner that demonstrates compassion, respect, and affirmation of their values and identities.
  • Experience using critical thinking skills to make informed decisions based on analysis, knowledge, and professional experience.
  • Documented and demonstrable experience working with Tribal populations and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist families in becoming independent, healthy and safe through ongoing coaching, collaboration, and coordination.
  • Engage families by providing a variety of services including but not limited to: individual and family assessments; identification of goals and a path off state assistance; identification of individual and family strengths; collaboration with other state agencies, community organizations and resources.
  • Work with Tribes, Urban Indian communities, community partners, and organizations.
  • Conduct interviews to determine family needs and eligibility.
  • Develop and maintain a base knowledge of employment services, contractors, and community services to meet the employment needs of the family.
  • Complete program applications for program benefits and, if eligible, issue appropriate support payments.
  • Develop a case plan and identify the family's steps towards self-sufficiency.
  • Monitor progress and conditions and make necessary modifications to the case plan.
  • Initiate and participate in case staffing, employment readiness, life skills training, and support job search, as needed.
