About The Position
This position provides for the prosecution of criminal and non-criminal cases. The incumbent handles felony cases under supervision, for example adult and juvenile burglaries, property crimes, armed robberies, drug trafficking, mental commitments, and probation violations. The role also involves taking rotation as on-call attorney, performing legal research for other attorneys, and assisting in trial teams. Non-prosecution duties such as community outreach, participating on boards and task forces, and advising/assisting entry-level attorneys may also be assigned. The incumbent works with law enforcement at crime scenes.
Requirements
- J.D. degree
- Licensed attorney in New Mexico
- Minimum of two (2) years as a practicing attorney OR one (1) year as a prosecuting attorney
Responsibilities
