About The Position

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position for a Triage Specialist RN with Pediatric and Adolescent Practitioners, working Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm in Gahanna, OH. The role involves conducting telephone triage for patient health complaints using an electronic triage assessment tool, navigating multiple electronic platforms for documentation, assessing patient care gaps, and adhering to all company policies and procedures. The position also requires developing positive working relationships with staff, offices, and physicians.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted registered nurse license in the state of Ohio.
  • Two years minimum Registered Nurse experience in a hospital and/or medical practice setting
  • Exceptional active listening, communication, and documentation skills, required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, and mind-set, required.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team, required.
  • Ability to adapt to department growth, expansion, and policies/ procedures, required.
  • Experience in pediatrics required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, such as Excel, required.
  • Proficient knowledge of electronic health records, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in telephonic nursing triage, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct telephone triage for patient health complaints using an electronic triage assessment tool (Schmitt-Thompson)
  • Navigate multiple electronic platforms to assess current health complaint, patients’ electronic chart, PCP appointment scheduling, and ancillary center scheduling have appropriate and timely documentation
  • Document phone call details in tracking system for department data tracking and collection.
  • Assess, identify, and close patient care gaps.
  • Follow and execute all policies, procedures, and job responsibilities instructed by direct supervisor.
  • Develop positive and effective working relationship with COPC staff, offices, and physicians.
