About The Position

We are seeking a full time, 36-hour Triage RN to support the practice onsite. The practices are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - 5:00pm and the schedule is staggered accordingly based on practice/employee needs. We are seeking a Triage RN to provide coverage at Center for Women's Health and Wellness (Portsmouth). -Monday Remote, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm -Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday onsite at 76 Corporate Drive, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Dedicated to phone triage, the Nurse will handle patient interactions via telephone, provide advice in accordance with clinical protocols, coordinate proper disposition, and assist with administering vaccines. Calls are related to patient concerns, appointments, pre and post procedures, urgent care, inpatient admissions, prescription refills, and test results. Responsible for patient care and support within our hospital's outpatient setting through providing compassionate care, assisting in procedures, and collaborating effectively in a dynamic ambulatory care environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) state license required
  • 0–1 year of clinical nursing experience required
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles, clinical practices, and outpatient care procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to continuing education, professional growth, and high-quality patient care.
  • Comfort using electronic medical records and healthcare technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
  • 1–2 years of ambulatory care or outpatient experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care and support in our ambulatory care unit, ensuring high nursing standards.
  • Conduct patient assessments, devise care plans, and assist in outpatient procedures with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulations.
  • Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
