About The Position
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking a Tree Surgeon (CS26-271) to join their team. The Facilities Management Tree Surgeon will perform skilled labor in grounds maintenance, specifically focusing on maintaining and trimming trees and shrubs to promote their health and appearance under general supervision.
Requirements
- Three (3) years/36 months of experience in a professional environment or a nursery involving the maintenance of trees, shrubs, and gardens.
- One (1) year/12 months of experience in a professional environment or nursery involving significant responsibility with the maintenance of trees, shrubs, and gardens.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment to be used.
- Knowledge of insects and plant life diseases and methods to control them.
- Knowledge of safe practices and willingness and ability to follow them.
- Knowledge and use of integrated pest management (IPM).
- Ability to follow instructions.
