Tree Maintenance Worker 1
About The Position
The Village of Ridgewood is hiring a full-time Tree Maintenance Worker 1. Under direction, the employee will assist with planting, transplanting, pruning, and cutting trees, as well as treating diseased trees. Under supervision, the employee will perform basic ground crew tasks and use basic knowledge of tree pruning and removal, stump and root grinding, and related equipment. The starting salary is $57,297.00. Working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Resumes will be accepted through December 3, 2026. A successful candidate is expected to begin in early January.
Requirements
- Experience with wood chippers, chainsaws, ropes, and knots.
- Must possess a valid New Jersey Class B commercial driver's license or be able to obtain one within one year of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Backhoe experience.
- Bucket truck experience.
