About The Position

The Maintenance Worker 1 performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision. The role includes maintaining and repairing plant equipment, keeping the work area orderly, and following company safety requirements. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of stick/arc welding experience.
• At least 1 year of experience using a plasma cutter and oxygen-acetylene torch.
• At least 2 years of experience operating aerial lifts.
• Ability to work rotating weekend shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a slaughter or rendering plant.
• Experience with high-pressure boilers, including blowdowns and chemical testing.
• High mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and repair problems with motors and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Repair and install machinery, including replacing motors and gearboxes, working on screw conveyors, threading and welding piping, repairing or replacing pumps, and using a cutting torch.
• Grease and oil plant equipment daily as needed.
• Diagnose equipment issues and replace parts with little or no direction.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Use assigned personal protective equipment and required safety equipment, and follow company safety rules and regulations.
• Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings and potentially serve on the Safety Committee.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
