About The Position

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a skilled Tree Climber to join their team in Milford, OH. This role involves trimming and removing trees, as well as addressing diseased or dying limbs to ensure the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas. The position offers a unique outdoor work environment with new views daily and opportunities for growth within a progressive greenspace stewardship team.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire

Nice To Haves

Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Responsibilities

Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Operate as an active crew member, supporting the ground crew and crew leader.
Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
Prune, thin, and remove deadwood from tree canopies.
Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
Remove hazardous trees.
Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
