About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Monroeville, PA is now hiring an Overnight Treatment Technician! This position involves monitoring stable patients overnight, assessing behavioral changes and pain scores. The technician will obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting the Veterinarian to changes and issues. A complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs is required, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Proficiency in performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels is necessary. The role also includes performing digital radiography with proper technique and positioning, calculating medical math (including constant rate infusions), and administering medications via appropriate routes and duration. Identifying patients at risk for arrest and initiating CPR are key responsibilities. The position also requires a passion for mentoring and training co-workers, and patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Requirements

Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.
