About The Position

The Treatment Provider is responsible for providing a range of services for individuals with Addictive Disease, as defined by state of Georgia service guidelines. These services include Behavioral Assessment, Service Plan Development, Community Support Services, Individual, Group, and Family Counseling/Training, Discharge Planning, and the application of Brief Treatment and Brief Intervention Techniques. The role involves screening clients, providing clinical consultation, engaging clients in their treatment decisions, coordinating services, and maintaining client records.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, or related field
  • One year of clinical experience in an alcohol or other drugs (AOD) or mental health setting
  • Currently holding an LAPC, LMSW or LAMFT License
  • In process of obtaining LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
  • Must be in active clinical supervision while in the process of obtaining clinical licensure if under provisional licensure
  • Must follow all state board rules and regulations for licensure
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW, LPC, or LMFT licensure
  • Cognitive Behavioral Intervention (CBI), Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), Thinking for a Change (T4C) and other comparable evidence-based curriculum certifications
  • 3 years’ experience conducting evidence-based groups and individual counseling sessions
  • Experience in accountably court/corrections environment

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screening interviews to determine the need for a drug and alcohol assessment and for emergent care services (detoxification, prenatal care, psychiatric care).
  • Make referrals to appropriate health and human services agencies based on screening outcomes.
  • Provide clinical consultation to referral resources, Mentors, family members, and others to support client recovery.
  • Work closely with clients to engage them in the decision-making process and help them understand the benefits of assessment and accessing the appropriate level of care.
  • Collect and review referral information, and consult with others as needed to support coordination of services and scheduling of client interviews.
  • Contact clients to confirm appointment dates, times, and assessment locations.
  • Provide counseling to individuals regarding the use and effects of alcohol and drugs.
  • Provide counseling to pregnant women about the effects of drugs and alcohol on the fetus.
  • Provide group counseling with evidence-based curricula.
  • Model and support health and wellness activities and healthy coping skills for clients.
  • Monitor client access to and involvement with treatment and other providers, address barriers to treatment and recovery, and follow up with clients within seven days of referral.
  • Ensure legislation, standards, and guidelines are being followed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines regarding all clients, conversations, and referrals.
  • Provide community education and support programs.
  • Access and collect relevant information and resources.
  • Distribute relevant information.
  • Make visits and presentations to various groups and organizations, including school-aged children.
  • Access and/or develop promotional materials and information regarding their program.
  • Assist individuals to identify their need for treatment programs.
  • Assist clients to meet all program requirements.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs.
  • Provide information and support regarding other services and resources in the community.
  • Participate in all assigned meetings, staff development, and training.
  • Complete paperwork requirements and maintain quality, up-to-date clinical records, including Outcomes Survey information.
  • Enter necessary information into the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Remain in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.
  • Follow up with clients who do not keep assessment appointments by phone, mail, or email and offer to reschedule.
  • Operate a personal computer and general office equipment, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
