About The Position

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, laboratory analysis & documentation at the water/wastewater plants. To ensure safe potable water is provided to all consumers and/or wastewater effluent discharge meets all Federal and State guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience in the operation and maintenance of water or wastewater treatment plants
• Experience performing laboratory analysis
• Experience completing required plant documentation
• General knowledge of overall treatment plant operations
• General knowledge of plant equipment
• General knowledge of control regulations
• Experience must reflect responsibility for ensuring safe potable water and/or compliant wastewater effluent that meets all applicable Federal and State guidelines.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using treatment plant equipment
• Performing sampling
• Routine lab testing
• Maintaining accurate operational records
• Familiarity with SCADA systems
• Mechanical troubleshooting
• Compliance with VDH and DEQ regulations
• A Virginia Water or Wastewater Operator License (Class IV or higher) or progress toward licensure
