Treatment Plant Operator Senior County Plant
About The Position
This position supports 24/7 operations by overseeing the operation and routine maintenance of process and support areas. The Senior Treatment Plant Operator monitors, initiates, and directs adjustments to plant processes and equipment, both manually and through process control systems, including remote facilities. They adjust plant processes based on laboratory test results, perform basic wastewater laboratory analysis, and clean plant process areas and equipment. This role also involves maintaining records, preparing reports, and directing Treatment Plant Operator Trainees and Operators in investigating and correcting process control problems. Additionally, the Senior Treatment Plant Operator assists in training operators, supports plant trades employees, and is required to fill-in for Team Leaders. Related work as required or delegated by Team Leaders and Supervisors is also part of the responsibilities.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Possess a Missouri Class "A" wastewater treatment operator's license.
- Possess a valid driver's license by the state in which the employee resides.
- Pass a Non-D.O.T. Drug Test for this position.
- Thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical wastewater treatment plant equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of safe working practices.
- Ability to make accurate readings.
- Ability to understand and record information on charts and meters.
- Ability to lead and oversee the work of others.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
Nice To Haves
- Missouri Class "A" wastewater treatment operator's license.
Responsibilities

- Assist in training operators.
- Assist plant's trades employees.
- Fill-in for Team Leaders at the Treatment Plant.
- Perform related work as required or as delegated by Team Leaders and Supervisor.
