About The Position

The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Treatment Plant Operator I to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Utilities-Wastewater division. Requirements

  • Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
  • Requires two years wastewater operation or closely related experience.
  • Class C Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators License TCEQ Wastewater License

Nice To Haves

  • Certification pay for licenses higher than required for the position.
  • Grade C License - $2500
  • Grade B License - $3500
  • Grade A License - $5000

Responsibilities

  • Sample, monitor, and perform testing required to maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process and storm water and sludge management.
  • Performs all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act Regulations.
  • Collects wastewater plant samples and runs onsite lab testing per TCEQ regulations.
  • Walks the plant to collect data from hour meters, physically check pumps for proper operation, start centrifuge for sludge processing, and look/find issues and address them.
  • Performs maintenance on wastewater plant equipment and performs basin maintenance.
