Golden Palms Rehabilitation and Retirement is seeking a Treatment Nurse (RN/LVN) for a Full Time Day Shift position. This role involves maintaining department supplies and equipment, organizing and filing medical records, assisting with resident transport, and serving as an information resource for patients, families, physicians, and outside reviewers. The position also includes clerical duties for admissions, discharges, transfers, and deaths, such as transcribing orders, ordering medications, and managing dietary and therapy changes. Data entry for lab and special examination requisitions is also part of the role. The ideal candidate will greet visitors and new admissions with warmth and friendliness, assist with any needs, and ensure admission orders and daily doctor's telephone orders are transcribed and verified promptly. Completing medical records by reviewing and assembling paperwork into a permanent folder is essential. The role also involves ordering necessary labs and ultrasounds for new admissions. The Treatment Nurse will assist the Director of Nursing Services in managing the Nursing Services Department, conferring with the Director of Nursing Services and/or other licensed nursing personnel regarding dermatologic disorders, and consulting with the Care Planning Team on assessment evaluations and skin care treatment plans. They will initiate requests for consultation or referral, respond to requests from residents, physicians, or nursing staff, and examine residents and their records to identify and manage skin disorders. The nurse will implement and maintain policies and procedures related to skin care treatments, interpret these to relevant parties, and make reports/recommendations to the attending physician, Medical Director, or DON. Participation in the interdisciplinary Care Plan Team is expected. Specific duties include identifying, managing, and treating skin disorders and lesions, providing assessment and diagnostic services, performing quarterly physical dermatologic examinations, and providing therapeutic services under physician supervision. Ensuring residents with decubitus ulcers receive appropriate care, giving direct nursing care in emergencies, assisting with resident admissions/discharges, and participating in resident rehabilitation activities are also key responsibilities. The role includes providing preventive health care services, making recommendations on nutrition and skin disorder prevention, and educating residents and families on health maintenance. Participation in in-service training and educational programs for residents and families regarding skin care is also required.
