Golden Palms Rehabilitation and Retirement is seeking a dedicated RN/LVN Full Time Day Shift Treatment Nurse to join their team. This role involves maintaining department supplies, keeping equipment operational, organizing and filing medical records, and assisting with resident transport. The Treatment Nurse will act as an information resource for patients, families, physicians, and outside reviewers, and will handle clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, transfers, and deaths. This includes transcribing orders, ordering medications and dietary changes, and completing lab and special examination requisitions. The position also involves greeting visitors and new admissions warmly, verifying and transcribing admission and daily doctor's orders, and completing medical records by assembling paperwork. The role requires ordering necessary labs and ultrasounds for new admissions. The Treatment Nurse will also assist the Director of Nursing Services in managing the Nursing Services Department, conferring with the Director of Nursing Services and other licensed nursing personnel regarding resident dermatologic disorders, and consulting with the Care Planning Team on assessment evaluations and skin care treatment plans. They will initiate consultation or referral requests, examine residents and their records to identify abnormalities, and implement policies and procedures related to skin care treatments. The Treatment Nurse will make reports and recommendations to the attending physician, Medical Director, or DON, and serve on the Interdisciplinary Care Plan Team. Key responsibilities include identifying, managing, and treating specific skin disorders and lesions, providing assessment and diagnostic services, performing quarterly physical dermatologic examinations, and providing therapeutic services under physician supervision. This includes ensuring appropriate prophylaxis and treatment for residents with decubitus ulcers, providing direct nursing care in emergencies, assisting with resident admissions and discharges, and working with other health agencies and family members during transitions. The role also involves assisting in resident rehabilitation activities, providing preventive health care services and recommendations, and participating in in-service training and educational programs for residents and families regarding skin care. The position ensures that nursing department employment actions are administered fairly and in compliance with the facility’s Policy Against Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation.
