About The Position

The Treatment Nurse LPN administers prescribed medications and provides treatments to residents according to physician orders. The role includes monitoring and documenting residents’ responses and condition, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring medications are handled and stored properly. The nurse also educates residents and families, helps plan and supervise C.N.T. work, and supports safe, infection-controlled care in accordance with policies and prescribed nursing standards. This is a full-time position at Diversicare, a provider of post-acute care at skilled nursing and long-term care centers.

Requirements

Current State Board of Nursing license as an R.N. or L.P.N.
Ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
Ability to perform varied duties amid frequent change; the work schedule changes daily.
Ability to work closely with residents, physicians, and staff.
Ability to work to prescribed nursing standards.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Interest in performing a service.

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed medications orally and by injection.
Provide treatments to residents according to physician orders.
Observe residents’ reactions to medications and treatments.
Ensure proper handling and storage of medications and controlled substances.
Observe, record, and report services provided.
Report changes in residents’ conditions to a supervisor and attending physician.
Document that medications and treatments were given or provided as required by policy.
Maintain residents’ medical records through documentation as required by policy.
Educate residents and families regarding care.
Assist in planning, supervising, and instructing C.N.T.s; assign daily work to support positive resident outcomes.
Implement and maintain policies and procedures.
Ensure safe work practices and proper infection-control techniques are used.
