Treasury Services Officer

Praxis Group•Guernsey, WY

About The Position

The Treasury Services Officer supports the day-to-day delivery and control of client treasury services. The role is responsible for accurate and timely processing, cash and liquidity monitoring, maintenance of treasury records, and preparation of operational and management information. Working closely with the Head of Treasury and colleagues across client service, finance, compliance and operations, the role helps ensure client cash is placed and administered in line with approved mandates, internal policies, delegated authorities and applicable regulatory requirements. Praxis is an independent provider of bespoke private wealth, corporate administration and yacht services to companies, individuals and families worldwide. Its private wealth and corporate services teams work with clients and their advisers to deliver efficient, informed and personal service in a fast-paced environment serving international clients across all asset classes.

Requirements

  • A good standard of general education, with strong numeracy, written English and a willingness to learn treasury processes and controls.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling payment, settlement and account information.
  • Ability to organise competing priorities, meet dealing and payment cut-off times, and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills, with confidence investigating differences and exceptions.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Sound judgement and willingness to escalate issues promptly rather than work around a control.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, client money responsibilities, operational risk, fraud prevention and the importance of complete records.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with colleagues across different teams and jurisdictions.
  • Curiosity and a practical mindset for improving processes, controls and data quality.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and, where appropriate, work towards a professional qualification such as the ACT Certificate in Treasury or an equivalent operations qualification.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous treasury experience is helpful but not essential; transferable skills from education, banking, payments, finance, administration, customer service or another controlled working environment are welcomed.
  • Experience following procedures, checking information carefully or maintaining accurate records is desirable; this may have been gained through work, study, volunteering or other relevant activities.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Process approved deposits, short-term cash placements, foreign exchange transactions and other treasury instructions accurately and within agreed cut-off times.
  • Monitor cash balances, expected inflows and outflows, settlement positions and near-term liquidity requirements, escalating shortfalls, unusual movements or access-to-cash concerns promptly.
  • Check that client instructions are complete, properly authorised and within approved mandates, limits and delegated authorities before execution; maintain evidence of approvals and maker-checker controls.
  • Track transactions through settlement, investigate breaks or failed payments, and support timely reconciliation of bank, custody, dealing and internal records.
  • Maintain accurate static data, account details, approved counterparty, bank account and cash-placement records, dealing documentation, signatory information and supporting due-diligence records.
  • Prepare daily and periodic treasury information, including balances, maturities, yields, exposures, liquidity positions, exceptions and data required for oversight and governance reporting.
  • Monitor counterparty exposures and approved limits in accordance with treasury policy, and identify and escalate breaches, concentrations, and operational, liquidity, conduct, fraud, information-security or regulatory concerns.
  • Build effective relationships with Group colleagues, respond professionally to treasury-related queries and help identify existing or potential clients who may benefit from treasury services, ensuring engagement is appropriately authorised.
  • Support onboarding of new treasury clients by coordinating with Group colleagues, gathering required information and documentation, maintaining accurate records, and completing approvals, due diligence and account set-up requirements before services commence.
  • Help maintain procedures, checklists and controls; contribute to system, data-quality and workflow improvements; and support testing and implementation of approved changes.
  • Maintain orderly records and effective handovers, provide cover for core treasury activities when trained and authorised, and support business continuity arrangements.
