About The Position

CareVet is seeking traveling Veterinarians to practice throughout the state of Florida. The Traveling DVM program is designed for experienced veterinarians who desire flexibility without compromising clinical quality, earning potential, or support. It offers a model similar to travel nursing, tailored for DVMs, with both full and part-time options available. Traveling DVMs will rotate across high-performing, community-rooted hospitals located throughout Florida, experiencing a variety of practice styles, client bases, and caseloads within a consistent and connected CareVet network. CareVet hospitals are equipped with modern diagnostics and treatment capabilities, providing the necessary tools for high-quality medicine. The program emphasizes clinical autonomy, trusting veterinarians to make patient decisions with collaborative network support. The teams boast 93% DVM and support staff retention, featuring experienced technicians and supportive leadership. CareVet is a network of veterinary hospitals dedicated to managing best-in-class facilities, focused on providing excellent care for pets and Team Members, with an approach centered on practice legacy, team, Veterinarians, patients, and community.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
