Traveling Veterinarian (Full or Part Time) - Florida
About The Position
CareVet is seeking traveling Veterinarians to practice throughout Florida. This program is designed for experienced veterinarians who desire flexibility without compromising clinical quality, earning potential, or support. The role offers full and part-time options with flexible scheduling, allowing veterinarians to choose between a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule (averaging 20 hours per week) or a 3 weeks on / 1 week off schedule. Traveling DVMs will rotate across various high-performing hospitals in Florida, experiencing diverse practice styles and caseloads, all while being supported by the CareVet network. The hospitals are equipped with modern diagnostics and treatment capabilities, and veterinarians are encouraged to practice with clinical autonomy. Teams are experienced and collaborative, contributing to a high retention rate.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
Responsibilities
- Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
- Treat and dress wounds
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Prescribe medication
- Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
