About The Position

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a utility tree trimmer to join its utility line clearance team in New Mexico. This is an on-site position with 100% travel. The role involves climbing trees and performing tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers. The work takes place outdoors and uses DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems. The company provides job-specific equipment and safety gear, training, and opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver's License—Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement.
Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Safely and skillfully perform tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers.
Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removing them.
Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Work as an active crew member alongside ground crew and the foreperson.
