About The Position

The Specialty Service Technician is responsible for handling various specialty service projects for our Commercial Cleaning Account and Extra Sales. This role involves maintaining a schedule of projects to ensure customer wishes are met, performing project tasks such as stripping floors, waxing, buffing, carpet extraction, and other periodic or project work. The technician will also perform project work including local deliveries of supplies, post-construction clean-ups, floor care, carpet care, power washing, and resolving customer complaints. General cleaning and light maintenance may also be required, along with maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs on equipment. The role includes inspecting and setting up new equipment, materials, and processes, and working with a manager to learn new equipment, materials, and processes. The position requires providing excellent customer service and maintaining a valid driver's license with a good driving record for potential business travel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, and 1-3 years related experience; additional years of education and experience may be substituted for each other, as determined by HR.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English is requirement of this position.
  • Must provide safety steel toe shoes – company will reimburse up to $50 per year.
  • Must be able to work mornings 25%, evenings 75%, there are some variances on summertime for more AM work.
  • Must be able to pass background check required by customers to enter and work in their facilities.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented as well as have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and have experience working on small equipment.
  • Regularly required to stand or sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach grasp objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift (50lbs on a frequent basis, 100lbs occasionally- with assistance) as well as push or pull objects.
  • Must have the visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and other equipment as well as the ability to adjust vision for close vision work.
  • Comply with proper safety policies and procedures as required (i.e., when exposed to cleaning chemicals, operating equipment, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Reports to work on time and works overtime as required.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and good driving record if required to travel for business.
  • Pass background check required by customers to enter and work in their facilities.
  • Pass a drug screen.
