About The Position

CareVet is seeking Locum Veterinarians who desire to practice high-quality medicine while maintaining the flexibility to travel, recharge, and live life. This role is designed for experienced veterinarians, offering the flexibility they seek alongside the stability, support, and earning potential they merit. It's likened to 'travel nursing for veterinarians' but with greater autonomy and a schedule tailored to individual lifestyles. Candidates can select their preferred rotation, such as '2 on / 2 off' (averaging 20 hours per week) or '3 on / 1 off' for those who prefer longer work and leisure periods. Traveling DVMs will rotate through high-performing, community-focused hospitals across the United States, with new locations frequently added to the network. CareVet hospitals are equipped with advanced diagnostics and treatment capabilities, empowering DVMs to practice medicine with independence and make patient-centric decisions, supported by network-level clinical outcomes data. The hospital teams are experienced, collaborative, and boast a high retention rate of 93% among DVMs and support staff.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
• Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
• Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
• Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
• Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
• Strong fondness and understanding of animals
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of animal behavior
• Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
