About The Position

The Traveling Periodontic Dental Assistant supports the Periodontist in delivering high-quality patient care at assigned offices. The role includes chairside assistance, preparing patients and instruments, maintaining operatory and inventory readiness, following infection-control procedures, and helping create a comfortable and positive patient experience. The listed schedule is Tuesday in Cary Greenlevel, Wednesday in Garner, and Thursday in Fuquay Broad, with Monday and Friday off.

Requirements

Dental Assistant Certification required.
Valid State of North Carolina X-Ray Certification.
Current CPR Certification.
High School Diploma or GED.
Reliable transportation to assigned offices.
Ability to lift 15–20 lbs.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Ability to anticipate the needs of patients and the Periodontist.
Professional appearance, demeanor, and teamwork mindset.
Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

Assist the Periodontist during procedures.
Reinforce preventive and post-treatment care instructions to patients.
Seat and prepare patients for treatment and help them feel calm and comfortable.
Provide reassuring support to patients throughout procedures.
Clean and disinfect operatories after each visit in accordance with infection-control standards.
Prepare tray setups and sterilize instruments.
Expose digital radiographs.
Take preliminary impressions as needed.
Monitor lab cases and ensure they are ready for scheduled appointments.
Maintain accurate information in the lab tracking system.
Manage dental supply inventory and keep operatories stocked.
Follow OSHA regulations and Company Safety Policies & Procedures.
Help promote 5-Star Google Reviews through excellent patient interactions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
