Traveling Periodontics Dental Assistant
About The Position
Join our dynamic and thriving dental practice as a Dental Assistant! At Great Expressions Dental Centers, we're seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our team and positively impact our patients' oral health. This is a traveling position that requires regular travel between the following locations: Land O' Lakes: 2091 Collier Parkway, Land O' Lakes, FL 34639, Pinellas Park: 5002 73rd Avenue N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781, Bloomingdale: 10845 Bloomingdale Ave., Riverview, FL 33578, New Tampa: 1748 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Suite 125, Wesley Chapel, FL 33543. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
Requirements
- Connecticut: certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays.
- Florida: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to expose X-rays).
- Georgia: CPR Certification, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification, and proof of formal training to expose X-rays.
- Massachusetts: CPR Certification, proof of formal training to expose X-rays, BORID certification and annual CE requirements must be completed per state regulations.
- Michigan: Upon hiring, you are required to furnish evidence of X-ray training certification. If you do not possess certification at the time of hiring, you are granted an 8-week period to submit it.
- New Jersey: Proof of X-ray training.
- New York: Not applicable.
- Ohio: Proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to Expose X-rays)
- Texas: CPR Certification, TSBDE: TX State Board of Dental Examiners.
Nice To Haves
- Previous dental assisting experience or relevant education is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in dental software and technology is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist our experienced dental team in providing exceptional patient care
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean and organized environment
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Support dentists during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth workflow
- Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain patient records accurately
