Traveling Orthodontics Dental Assistant
About The Position
Great Expressions Dental Centers is seeking an energetic, motivated Dental Assistant to support patient care at a fast-paced dental practice. The position requires travel between three offices; mileage reimbursement will be provided. The assistant will help the dental team deliver patient care, prepare and maintain treatment rooms, support dentists during procedures, educate patients, perform basic dental procedures under a licensed dentist’s guidance, and manage scheduling and records. Previous dental assisting experience or relevant education is preferred, but training may be provided to the right candidate. Applicants must meet the applicable state requirements listed in the posting.

- Meet the applicable state requirements: Connecticut—certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays; Florida—EFDA certification and proof of formal X-ray training, including FDOH permit to expose X-rays; Georgia—CPR certification, EFDA certification, and proof of formal X-ray training; Massachusetts—CPR certification, proof of formal X-ray training, BORID certification, and annual continuing education requirements; Michigan—evidence of X-ray training certification upon hiring, with eight weeks to submit it if not already held; New Jersey—proof of X-ray training; Ohio—proof of formal X-ray training, including FDOH permit to expose X-rays; Texas—CPR certification and TSBDE requirements. New York requirements are listed as not applicable.

Responsibilities
- Assist the dental team in providing patient care.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
- Support dentists during procedures by anticipating their needs and helping ensure a smooth workflow.
- Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist.
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain accurate patient records.
