Traveling Orthodontic Dental Assistant – Part-Time (6 Days/Month)
About The Position
Join our dynamic and thriving dental practice as a Dental Assistant! At Great Expressions Dental Centers, we're seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our team and positively impact our patients' oral health. If you're looking for a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities, this is the perfect position for you! Schedule: 6 days per month, traveling with the doctor between the following locations: Willoughby: 34302 Euclid Ave, Willoughby, OH 44094 Green: 790 Arlington Ridge, Akron, OH 44312 Great Northern: 648 Great Northern Mall, North Olmsted, OH 44070 Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel between locations.
Requirements
- Meet state requirements for X-ray exposure certification (specific requirements vary by state: Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas).
- CPR Certification (required in Georgia, Massachusetts, Texas).
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification (required in Florida, Georgia).
- Proof of formal training to expose X-rays (required in Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio).
- FDOH Permit to expose X-rays (required in Florida, Ohio).
- BORID certification and annual CE requirements (Massachusetts).
- TSBDE: TX State Board of Dental Examiners (Texas).
Nice To Haves
- Previous dental assisting experience or relevant education is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate.
- Proficiency in dental software and technology is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist our experienced dental team in providing exceptional patient care
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean and organized environment
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Support dentists during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth workflow
- Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain patient records accurately
