About The Position

Ideal Dental is seeking a part-time Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support patients and the clinical team throughout orthodontic treatment. The role works alongside the Orthodontist to provide a welcoming, efficient, and patient-focused clinical experience; educate patients on post-treatment care; coordinate follow-ups; maintain accurate records; and support clinical readiness, patient flow, and practice operations. The company provides training, tools, and resources for professional growth in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

Active Registered Dental Assistant License.
Current CPR certification.
At least 1 year of specific orthodontic experience.
Willingness to travel within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable throughout their orthodontic care.
Support patients during orthodontic procedures and communicate with patients and families.
Assist the Orthodontist with procedures, including untying and tying arch-wires, bending and placing arch-wires, fitting bands, and preparing for and assisting with bonding.
Take impressions, x-rays, and intraoral and extraoral photographs; develop x-rays.
Educate patients on post-treatment care and recovery.
Coordinate care and follow-ups and communicate clearly with patients.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
Use the computer imaging system.
Sterilize instruments.
Pour up models.
Inventory supplies.
Help manage clinical readiness, patient flow, and operational support.
Contribute to a collaborative team environment and provide high-quality specialty care.
