This role involves following all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. The Traveling Maintenance Lead will communicate with the team to promote understanding of the relationship between site actions and results and overall tactical objectives. They will drive day-to-day execution of team-related responsibilities and priorities using leadership competencies that support the ATS culture, displaying behaviors that align with being self-motivated and emotionally intelligent. Documentation of work performed in service reports, applicable management systems, and written explanations regarding observations and collected equipment performance data is crucial. This includes compiling technical manuals, operations, and maintenance processes relevant to equipment upgrades and automation integrations. The role also involves updating records, reviewing CMMS history, and analyzing data. Key responsibilities include performing expert-level break-fix and preventative maintenance. This encompasses observing devices in operation to locate the root cause of problems, dismantling devices to access and remove defective parts, examining parts for imperfections, adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective parts, testing devices to observe performance, performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems, and reconditioning and repairing machine tools. The lead will also identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items, and perform evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and/or reliability of equipment, compiling alternative packages for retrofit, upgrade, or alternative functionality of equipment. Independently performing maintenance as per industry standards and creating maintenance standards and instructions for altered or new manufacturing equipment are also key duties. The role may require setting up and operating multiple machining operations (lathe, drill press, grinder, other metalworking tools) to make and repair parts, and may involve welding tasks. Conforming to customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes is mandatory. The lead will also alter, troubleshoot, and analyze complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/hardware and configuration problems, and utilize advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data, observe trends, and make recommendations. Conducting on-the-job training and supporting the technical development of the team are also important aspects of this position.
