About The Position

Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery is seeking a Histotech to join its dermatology practice. The role involves processing pathology specimens and preparing slides, with travel between Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, and Venice. The successful candidate will provide accurate, protocol-compliant work and contribute to a dependable, team-oriented environment focused on patient care.

Requirements

• Current ASCP certification (HT) or registry eligibility.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience with embedding, cutting, staining, special stains, and troubleshooting.
• Reliable and dependable, with an excellent attendance history.
• Team player.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Process, embed, cut, stain, and coverslip specimens.
• Accession specimens alongside other team members.
• Perform special stains according to established protocols.
• Assemble slides with requisitions and double-check accuracy.
• Cut control slides.
• Perform quality control.
• Adhere to department protocols and procedures.
• Travel between Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, and Venice.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
