About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring a Traveling Technician (Pump, Power & HVAC) based out of our rental facility in Richmond, VA, to support various branches. This role involves providing maintenance and repair for customer and company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts. The technician will work with the newest equipment in the industry and contribute to transforming the construction industry through innovative technology and real-time support.

Requirements

  • Must own tools applicable to position.
  • Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of hand and power tools, schematics and diagrams.
  • High School diploma, or equivalent.
  • Active applicable state class driver's license.
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen.

  • Construction knowledge and background preferred.
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Travel and support branches within the assigned region by performing on-site equipment service, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Address hard and soft down equipment.
  • Conduct machine inspections.
  • Prepare units for use.
  • Work closely with customers.
  • Troubleshoot issues using real-time diagnostic tools.
  • Apply electrical and hydraulic expertise to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
  • Use technology (laptops, tablets, and mobile phone) comfortably.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools (pneumatic tools, material lifts, chain hoists, core drills, welders, pipe threaders, small engines) under the supervision of higher-tier technicians and while using a high degree of independent judgment.
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred).
  • Receive year-round company provided OEM training.
  • Perform other duties, assigned as needed.
