About The Position

The Olen Corporation and Area Aggregates, a leading construction aggregates producer in the Midwest with over 50 years of experience, is seeking an Equipment Operator/Utility person. This role is responsible for operating equipment and performing other duties as directed by supervision, adhering to safety, maintenance, and production best practices. The operator will inspect, clean, and perform minor repairs on equipment, observe operations for malfunctions, and report any issues to supervision. This position requires the ability to travel between four different plant locations (Fredericktown, OH, St. Louisville, OH, Upper Sandusky, OH, and Wooster, OH) and operate various types of equipment. The ideal candidate will be located centrally to these sites. This is a non-union opportunity.

Requirements

• Ability to travel to and from multiple sites.
• Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals, safety information, hazard labels, etc.
• Corrected eyesight, color vision, depth perception, hearing, and balance acceptable for safe operation of mobile equipment and awareness near fixed plant operations.
• Adequate or corrected hearing acceptable for the safe operation of mobile equipment and awareness near fixed plant operations.
• Free of the influence of drugs or controlled substances that can affect judgment or coordination.
• Knowledge of all related safety guidelines and procedures.
• General mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all safety guidelines are followed.
• Operate equipment within general operating and production guidelines.
• Perform pre-shift inspections, fueling, and greasing of equipment.
• Operate a Front-end Loader and Skid-steer Loader.
• Maintain the general appearance and housekeeping of equipment.
• Operate within the general mine plan.
• Report all maintenance issues to the maintenance manager.
• Report trucking or truck issues directly to the Plant Manager.
• Communicate with the scale house regarding trucking needs or wishes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
