Traveling Director of Nursing
About The Position
This is a full-time position where the Traveling Director of Nursing (DON) will travel as needed to client skilled nursing centers to assist as Interim Director of Nursing. This role offers a great opportunity to share clinical knowledge, implement systems, and train new Directors of Nursing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective overall management of the Nursing Department on a temporary basis in the assigned region/facility, working with other disciplines to provide quality care, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines, and assisting in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient-centered programming. They will also help facilities interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Skilled communicator, director and motivator
- Able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively
- 3-5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a long term care environment
- Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN)
- Must be able to travel extensively by air and automobile.
- Facilities located in multiple states – overnight travel will be required
- Reliable transportation required

- Valid RN license
Responsibilities
- Travel as needed to client skilled nursing centers to assist as Interim Director of Nursing.

- Responsible for the effective overall management of the Nursing Department on a temporary basis in the assigned region/facility.
- Work with other disciplines to provide quality care to all patients/residents in facility.
- Responsible for assisting assigned facility to comply with appropriate state, federal guidelines/regulations, in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
- Work with all facility departments to assist in planning, implementing and evaluating patient centered programming.
- Assist facilities with the interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures.
