About The Position

The Director of Nursing plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operations of the Nursing department. The role ensures services and care for residents comply with local, state, and federal standards and regulations, facility policies and procedures, and directions from the Administrator and Medical Director.

Requirements

Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
At least three years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related healthcare facility.
Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel, and the general public.
Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
Leadership and supervisory ability, and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures needed to provide quality care.
