About The Position

The Traveling Commercial Roofing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing commercial roofing projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards are met. This role supervises crews, coordinates job site activities, and ensures projects are completed on time and within scope. Responsibilities include new installations, re-roofing, repairs, and maintenance of commercial roofing systems, including TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, and metal roofing systems. The Superintendent will also be responsible for quality control, safety compliance, and customer communication across multiple job sites. This position requires travel to project sites across Texas, including Amarillo, Abilene, and San Antonio, as well as Monroe, Louisiana. Flynn provides housing accommodations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of superintendent experience in commercial roofing (REQUIRED)
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of commercial roofing systems: TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, metal roofing, and coatings
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans
  • Experience managing crews, subcontractors, and job site operations
  • Strong understanding of safety practices, OSHA compliance, and job site procedures
  • Ability to perform inspections, identify issues (leaks, defects), and implement repairs
  • Experience with installation of insulation, vapor barriers, flashing, and waterproofing systems
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment such as hot air welders, hand torches, spray equipment, compressors, and power tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required)
  • Open to traveling for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all roofing activities on job sites
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
  • Lead and mentor crews while maintaining productivity and quality standards
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, clients, and team members
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
  • Enforce safety protocols and company policies at all times
